Considering a career in surgery? Join our biggest event of the year in association with RCSEd!
This will be a virtual event hosted on Zoom. Featuring over 9 specialty talks and a virtual careers fair, you will be able to learn more about different surgical specialties and have the opportunity to speak to renowned surgeons in their fields.
Certificate of attendance provided. Attendees will also receive a complimentary RCSEd Affiliation Membership worth £10!
This year we will once again have a stand in the Newcastle University Freshers Fair!

At Newcastle University Surgical Society, we have recently established a mentoring scheme with surgeons in the region. This scheme aims to encourage more opportunities for enthusiastic medical students to enter surgical theatres and learn about the specialities of their interest. Surgery has traditionally been an apprenticeship-based trade, and therefore it seems more than fitting to have mentors for our young surgeons to learn from and aspire to. This also presents the opportunities for extracurricular activities such as audits and research projects.
