Behind the Scalpel is our brand new surgical teaching series designed in collaboration with University of Sunderland Surgical Society and overseen by consultant orthopaedic surgeon Mr Yusuf Michla.
The series is based off of learning outcomes set out by the Royal College of Surgeons of England in their undergraduate syllabus and the series is aimed at preparing clinical years for foundation and core surgical training. The teaching sessions will cover a wide variety of specialties starting with ENT on 1/11/22 and going on to cover neurosurgery, orthopaedics, vascular, general and urological in subsequent sessions.
All sessions will be taught by surgical trainees via zoom and include lots of SBAs to help with revision of key topics which come up in our exams. This is a great opportunity to find out more about surgical specialties you may be interested in whilst revising core anatomy and physiology.
